There are loads of great cafes all over Cornwall and plenty to visit from Garden Cottage. We have listed a few of our closest favourites but there are plenty more gems to discover around Polperro and Looe whilst you're out and about!
Talland Bay Beach Cafe
Talland Bay cafe is our favourite cafe by far, you can walk the coastal path from Polperro to Talland Bay to reach it which takes about 30 minutes and is quite an adventure, or it is a 10 minute drive from Garden Cottage. Spectacular views over looking the bay. Amazing food, cream teas, coffee, cakes, sandwitches 7 paninis, ice cream and now alcohol too! You can hire kyaks and there is small shop for all your beach essentials. Brand new beach huts which are free to use at the cafe. An amazing hang out on a hot sunny day or great cosy shelter on a stormy afternoon.
Polperro Smugglers Museum Cafe
Polperro smugglers cafe is located outside the smugglers museum overlooking Polperro harbour. A perfect place to stop for a cream tea whilst exploring Polperro village. A great spot to rest your legs and watch the activities in the harbour. Just a 2 minute walk from Garden Cottage and local shops.
Smugglers Rest - Talland Bay
Another great little cafe overlooking the other side of the bay at Talland. It is a great adventure to walk from Garden Cottage but you can also drive and there is parking. Amazing barbeques in the summer months with freshly caught fish and locally farmed meats. Fully licensed so a good option for a warm summers early evening.
Pinky Murphy's - Fowey
Fowey is a great place to visit, only a half an hour drive from Garden Cottage including a short hop over the river fowey on a very small traditional car ferry. Fowey is a large deep water marina and the town is full of amazing shops. Pinky Murphy's is one of the quirkiest places to stop for a coffee or platter of some kind. Fresh food made daily, 60's surf themed decor and super friendly staff, well worth a visit especially on a rainy day!
